Rubens, a powerful gangster, decides to take his last big blow with the help of his adopted daughter Leônia. But not everything goes as planned during the robbery of a bank's private coffers on Avenida Paulista, in the heart of São Paulo. Rubens and Leônia will only find their true destinations, by spawning the stolen objects in Paraguay, where both characters enter into crisis with their own existential values.

A diferencia de los escritores del 'boom' literario de la novela sudamericana de los años 60 y 70, que se convirtieron en estrellas mediáticas, la vida de Bolaño se acerca más a la de los grandes escritores malditos de comienzos del siglo XX que a la que se puede asociar con un escritor de culto y reconocido. Este documental analiza su papel como escritor, pero también como personaje extraño que crea su propia leyenda; desvela lo que hay de cierto y de mentira en su propia autobiografía.
